Integrating Space and Light to Create a Harmonious Living Experience

In the realm of private homes, "Past Precious Times" stands out for its unique approach to space structure and layout. Rather than breaking away from traditional construction, Chien narrows the interaction distance between people and indoor situations. By extending the space for interpersonal activities and employing unbounded processing, the design naturally connects the scenes of each functional area.

The color palette of light and gentle log and stone decorative surfaces, combined with simple and elegant carpets, sofas, and soft chairs, removes any sense of heaviness. The result is a clean and concise residence with a new spatial texture. Abundant light sources infuse the space with a dynamic sense, bringing tranquility into the room and facilitating a natural transition of emotional perception upon entering from the outside.

One of the key features of "Past Precious Times" is the extensive use of transparent floor-to-ceiling windows on the sun-facing indoor facade. This design choice maximizes the introduction of natural light, while the concise elements minimize the blocking of light beams. The result is a space that is permeated by the outside light, creating a seamless connection between the interior and the surrounding environment.

The design of "Past Precious Times" was realized in Dibao, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. The project, which started on June 30, 2021, was completed on March 1, 2022, covering an area of 740 square meters.

Chien's research for this design focused on capturing the rhythm of a quiet life and elevating it in a gentle and relaxed free space. The layout of opening and closing reduces the distinct sense of distance, while the poetic style infuses a unique philosophy of life. The interplay of light and plain materials creates a clear and bright space scenery, offering a healing experience that allows individuals to escape the noise of daily life.

"Past Precious Times" has garnered recognition in the design world, receiving the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
